A new anti-Trump book by author Michael Wolff claims Melania Trump cried tears of sadness when her husband won the 2016 presidential election.
The book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” which is apparently filled with dubious claims, alleges Mrs. Trump “was in tears — and not of joy” when Trump won the White House over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The former fashion model “had been assured by her husband that he wouldn’t become president,” claims the book, and that she’d be able to “return to inconspicuously lunching.”
Melania, taking a cue from her husband, is fighting back against the apparent “fake news.”
“This book is clearly going to be sold in the bargain fiction section,” blasted communications director for the first lady, Stephanie Grisham, in a statement. “Mrs. Trump supported her husband’s decision to run for president and in fact, encouraged him to do so. She was confident he would win and was very happy when he did.”
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders took a similar swipe at Wolff’s book. “This book is filled with false and misleading accounts from individuals who have no access or influence with the White House. Participating in a book that can only be described as trashy tabloid fiction exposes their sad desperate attempts at relevancy,” she said.

In November, a report about Mrs. Trump’s alleged displeasure over her husband’s election win hit the mainstream media.
“This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win,” said a source cited in a Vanity Fair report. “She didn’t want this come hell or high water. I don’t think she thought it was going to happen.”
President Trump characteristically hit back.
“Melania, our great and very hard working First Lady, who truly loves what she is doing, always thought that ‘if you run, you will win,'” he said, via Twitter. “She would tell everyone that, ‘no doubt, he will win.’ I also felt I would win (or I would not have run) – and Country is doing great!”
